A Poem for a Friend
Fred’s 35th Anniversary
Fred is a man of many words.
He is a friend of the animals and the birds.
In 35 years there’s bound to be some bumps in the road.
But he weathers them all and a new story is told.
He has lived in Homefires House where we first met.
We started writing poems and haven’t stopped yet.
Over the years he’s dressed as Santa and even a nun.
For sure this man likes to have fun.
He even dressed up as another Fred.
Not Freddy Kreuger; Fred Flintstone instead.
He also makes great animal sounds.
If you hear an owl “woo!” He might be around.
Fred used to live with Jennifer P.
And with her he was very kind.
Have a chat with Fred over a coffee and he’ll tell you what’s on his mind.
Fred is a mover and a shaker and is waiting to move again.
No matter where he is, he is always a friend.
